balancico is an app for managing shared expenses in groups. It helps you record costs in lists, split them fairly, and settle open balances between members.

From the home screen, use the join button to enter an invite code or invitation link. If the code is valid and your plan allows it, you will be added to the group.

Yes. The app supports invitation links, app links, deep links, and QR codes. If you open a valid link, joining can be triggered directly.

- Invite code: short code for manual entry

From the group card menu or the group banner, you can change the name, group image, background image, and group currency.

You can access these actions from the menu of the relevant group card. You can also find archived groups in the side menu under “Archived groups”.
If you leave the group and you are also the last remaining member, the app offers deletion instead.

Can I merge two groups?
Yes. From a group card menu, you can merge one group into another.
The app first checks whether both groups use the same currency. If not, you must choose a target currency from those two group currencies before the merge. The entries from the group with the different currency can be converted right away, including a reviewable or manually adjustable exchange rate.

Open the relevant group, go to the “Members” section, and tap “Add”. In the detail view, you can later adjust the name as well as the profile and background image.

There you can find the profile, the name, an overview of that person’s lists, amounts already paid, and the current balances per list.
balancico now also shows that person’s related expenses and recorded settlement payments for each list, so it is easier to understand how the balance is built up.

Inside a group, you can use the sort button to reorder lists via drag and drop. From a list’s menu, you can also archive, restore, or delete it.
What do “Clear list” and “Close list” mean?

“Clear list” removes the entries but keeps the list structure intact. “Close list” marks the list as finished in terms of content; in that state, you normally cannot add new entries anymore.

An expense is an actual cost that is split between several people. A payment is a direct settlement between two people to reduce open balances.

Possible reasons include an invalid invite code, an expired link, missing authentication, or a limit in your current plan. In the Basic plan, joining can also be blocked if the target group has more than two active lists.

If you already have the same list open, the app suppresses certain in-app notifications because you can already see the changes directly. Your own actions in a list you are currently editing are also temporarily excluded to avoid unnecessary duplicate notices.
